Need for Speed Most Wanted – Location Recording

These are a few of the videos and photos I took whilst on a audio shoot for Critereon Games at Dunsfold Aerodrome. (The Top Gear Track!)

The exterior of the car was rigged with 2 Nuemann KMR81i’s, another omni directional microphone was mounted with an special suction mounted boom arm. (These takes would later be used for the player’s perspective behind the car in game.)

Several DPA mics where placed under the hood around the engine and underneath the car on the gearbox to capture gear shifts, for that authentic engine sound.

Notice my death defying “by” recording as ¬£300k of LEXUS LFA Sports car passes me at such close proximity and at such high speed that I have to drop my phone!

I was recording with a Rode NTG-3 Shot gun and blimp system going down to a Portadrive PDR 2000.
